Trash the Dress, Pt 2
Back in August we posted our first ever Trash The Dress contest which closed on August 31st. From the entries I chose two lucky winners for the two sessions: Modern and Country Brides.
A big Thank you to Tania Poole of Genesis Mobile Spa-http://www.genesisspaonline.com/
Tania did the makeup for the two sessions and for this session she also did Paula's hair, which was the loose Trash the Dress curls/style I was going for.
This was our Country Bride, Paula. I did her and Tony's country themed wedding back in October 2009 so she mentioned it was our anniversary for photography when I did her session on Thanksgiving Monday. For her engagement session, her and Tony had fishing poles and we had a ton of fun, for the wedding they had it at Stanley's Olde Maple Lane Farm in Edwards Ontario and it was very centered around the country feel so she was perfect to win the Country Bride themed Trash the Dress. We had so much fun driving around scouting locations and getting weird looks from passer-byers and ofcourse sitting ontop of piles of haybails together.
The hunting block Paula brought.
There were so many to choose from as we had three locations but these were the ones that really stood out to me.
The hay bails we were so happy to find. We also found a large spider in them which we tried to avoid!
Thanks so much to easy going Paula. I'm sure we'll be working together again soon :)

Our first session was our modern Bride from Barrie, Ontario, Lisa who brought along her awesome husband Darryl.
They had a destination wedding 5 years ago in May and didn't have the luxury of a professional photographer for her wedding day. Almost 5 years she still fit beautifully in her amazing lace gown.
We had two locations: One at Brewer Park under the Dunbar Bridge- where House Of PainT has produced some creative graffiti and off the Ottawa River Parkway.

Were you recently married but want to get back into that dress and shoot some more edgy photos? We have two sessions we will be giving away that include up to 2 hours of photography time and 50 of your best images on high resolution DVD to reproduce as you like..
Value of $250
Additional photo books or prints will be extra.
Rules and Regulations:
Contest opens August 10th and closes August 28th, 2010. The winner will be drawn on Tuesday August 31st, 2010.
1. Shoot must take place in Ottawa/Ottawa area between September 1st 2010 and October 1st, 2010 to apply for this photography contest. You must be willing to get your dress a little dirty. We by no means will be trashing it by burning it or spray painting it (unless that’s your idea at the end of the shoot)
The two sessions we are giving away are as follows:
a) Modern Bride, some images taken on train tracks, some taken in the river at sunset. Must be willing to get the bottom of your dress wet (it actually makes it cleaner!)
Your husband is more than welcome to come in a suit or whatever outfit to have some photos taken together
b) Country Bride, images will ideally be taken with a barn, horses, hay barrels, and corn fields. Husband is welcome to participate; if you have a farm or area with these qualities please include this in your entry.
2. Because this is a photography contest, winner approves Photographer to use any images for self promotion/contest/portfolios online or printed, or to follow up contest with. Release will need to be signed prior to shoot.
3. Entry form must be completed as specified below

I was referred to Michelle from Way Better Cakes and Candies when my cake baker became unavailable to fulfil her orders and I'm so happy I was.
Here are the cakes she did for Jen and Adam's Wedding that I photographed on April 3rd.
Michelle was able to work with my budget and has an amazing personality, attention to detail and was wonderful through the whole process.
Also, looking at her cakes you can tell she is super talented and has the same drive for perfection that our studio has.
