Melanie Shields Photography is hosting our annual marathon in January 2012 in a boutique Ottawa hotel downtown. The dates are to be confirmed based on amount of interest but I am currently booking for Saturday January 7th 2012.

To reserve your space, a $50 non refundable deposit is due which covers the cost of the hotel, light snacks and light beverages (water and wine)

Holiday Cards are here!

Holiday cards, starting at just $1.50 each. Customized wording and choice from about 50 classy holiday templates.


Cards can be made from any photo (even if I haven't taken them) as long as you have your copyright release and digital file.
Sizes vary from 4x6 card inserts (for family and friends to take out of the card and put on the fridge all year), 4x8 flat photo cards, 4x5 and 5x7 standard folded premium card.

Wonderful Light the Night Event, October 15th 2011

One of my Bride's Kim and her family have organized a wonderful event that I am proud to have donated an awesome framed photo for the silent auction to.
All money raised will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Lindsay's beautiful sister-in-law Kim is currently in hospital fighting cancer. For those who know Kim, it will come as no surprise that her spirits are higher than ever and we all know this is just one more step in her battle to beat cancer once and for all.


On October 15, 2011 at 7 p.m. you are invited to join us at Local Heroes Bar & Grill in Bells Corners for an event to raise funds for Kim’s favourite charity –the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Kim’s team, CanCervive, will be participating in the Light the Night Walk next month and we want to make a donation in Kim’s name as a thank you for everything she does to inspire us.


There will be awesome door prizes, a silent auction and a prize for the person who is best-dressed in Light the Night colours-red, white and gold.

October 2nd Ottawa wedding at Bean town Ranch

Bean town Ranch is always a pleasure to visit. They appoint people to look after the bride and groom whenever they need anything, the venue is gorgeous and the food is amazing!

 
 This was the first time I had been here on a non sunny day and the wedding was still incredible.
Andreanne and Graham, a big special thank you for having me there to photograph your wedding.
Andie and Graham were the winners of the discounted wedding package from the Spring 2011 Ottawa Wedding Show, so I'm so glad to have met them.

Flowers!

I have such wonderful clients.
Paula Hall (gorgeous bride who I have photographed in her wedding attire twice; one wedding day and one trash the dress on the hay bales) just surprised me with this amazing bouquet. I have never seen a variety so unique.
I love my job... and flowers!

I'm pretty sure Paula follows my blog so a big thank you for the huge surprise. It made my day :)... I love the colours!

Weddingbells Magazine Ad

I was a little surprised to open the new WeddingBells Magazine 2011fall/winter issue and see a picture I took over 6 years ago used in a Moscatel Ad.
(My photo included the model's head but I guess they liked it without!)

In the spirit of blast from the past here are a few other images from the shoot taken in the gorgeous Brookstreet Hotel, Kanata, Ontario.

August wedding at The Canadian Golf and Country Club, Ottawa Wedding photography

I am working on this wedding to deliver this week from the end of August which was all held at the beautiful Canadian Golf and Country Club.
I hadn't been here before but I was pleased to take photos there as they made it really easy and the spots were very picturesque!
