Melanie Shields Photography, affordable Ottawa family photographer, is having a mini session Fall themed portrait day, Sunday October 23rd, 2011. We will also be having costume day on the weekend of 29-31st, details TBA.

This year's theme portrait day will consist of:
1 brown background, complimentary fall colour
Fall themed props
30 minutes in studio time
Mulitple poses and varieties
Online proofing of all images (generally about 40-50)
+ 1-8x10 retouched enlargement
Option to buy additional enlargements at regular price starting at $3
Only $35.00

Each year we have a few dates where we visit an Ottawa park for the full day in order to do
6-8 sessions and offer the best rates to our customers.


1) Mini shoot
20 minutes photography time
Includes online proofing of all images taken
10 retouched images on high resolution Cd to reprint as desired
Great for small families (2 children and under), headshots

2) Medium Shoot
40 minutes of photography time
Includes online proofing of all images taken
20 retouched images on high resolution Cd to reprint as desired
1- 8x10 enlargement
Great for families under 6 people, engagements, pregnancy, pets

3) Maximus shoot
45 minutes photography time
Includes online proofing of all images taken
+ one 40 page customized hard cover coffee table album with chosen images
+ 2 5x7 enlargements
+ option to purchase digital images

Flowers!

I have such wonderful clients.
Paula Hall (gorgeous bride who I have photographed in her wedding attire twice; one wedding day and one trash the dress on the hay bales) just surprised me with this amazing bouquet. I have never seen a variety so unique.
I love my job... and flowers!

I'm pretty sure Paula follows my blog so a big thank you for the huge surprise. It made my day :)... I love the colours!

Weddingbells Magazine Ad

I was a little surprised to open the new WeddingBells Magazine 2011fall/winter issue and see a picture I took over 6 years ago used in a Moscatel Ad.
(My photo included the model's head but I guess they liked it without!)

In the spirit of blast from the past here are a few other images from the shoot taken in the gorgeous Brookstreet Hotel, Kanata, Ontario.

August wedding at The Canadian Golf and Country Club, Ottawa Wedding photography

I am working on this wedding to deliver this week from the end of August which was all held at the beautiful Canadian Golf and Country Club.
I hadn't been here before but I was pleased to take photos there as they made it really easy and the spots were very picturesque!
